“It would be easy to forget and forgive Henry Kissinger of his crimes, just as he forgave Nixon. Yes, we could do that -- but it would be wrong. Kissinger is a slippery little devil, a world-class hustler with a thick German accent and a very keen eye for weak spots at the top of the power structure.” — The Good Doctor Thompson
“Once you’ve been to Cambodia, you’ll never stop wanting to beat Henry Kissinger to death with your bare hands. You will never again be able to open a newspaper and read about that treacherous, prevaricating, murderous scumbag sitting down for a nice chat with Charlie Rose or attending some black-tie affair for a new glossy magazine without choking. Witness what Henry did in Cambodia — the fruits of his genius for statesmanship — and you will never understand why he’s not sitting in the dock at The Hague” — Anthony Bourdain
Henry Kissinger was America’s greatest war criminal and that’s saying something. He was never held accountable, instead losing power incidentally. He lived another half-century as a respected elder statesman. Kissinger represents everything about the bloody brutality, violent ineptitude, destructive untruth, and total unaccountability of the National Security State. Unfortunately my fellow Americans, he says too much about us all.
I am left wondering what are his crimes? And dare I ask, because I think I know what you might say, what should we have done about the North Vietnamese troops moving guns and supplies into Cambodia to kill Americans and South Vietnamese troops and families?
